ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC), located at the picturesque foothills of Mahendragiri Hills, Tirunelveli District, Tamil Nadu, near Kanyakumari, is the major testing hub of ISRO’s liquid propulsion systems. The role of IPRC is to carry out research and development for the design, assembly, integration, and testing of liquid propulsion systems for satellites and launch vehicles, including cryogenic engines and stages. It is responsible for the development, qualification, and acceptance testing of propulsion sub-systems and systems for ISRO’s space missions. IPRC is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for testing and evaluation of these advanced systems.

Download HereKanyakumari, approximately 25km (15mi) from Mahendragiri, marks the southernmost point of mainland India, where the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, and Bay of Bengal converge in a spectacular meeting of waters. Once referred to as Cape Comorin, the town is renowned for its breathtaking sunrises and sunsets that can be witnessed over the confluence in a single day. Just off the coast, the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the towering 133-foot Thiruvalluvar statue stand as prominent landmarks, now connected by a glass bridge that adds a modern dimension. The Gandhi Mandapam, situated on the shore, commemorates the Indian freedom. Visitors can also explore the nearby Sucheendram Temple, historic sites such as Vattakottai Fort and Padmanabhapuram Palace, and experience natural beauty at Thiruparappu Falls and Chitharal Jain rock temple built during 9th Century.Kanyakumari offers excellent connectivity, with air, rail, and road options, and the nearest airports being Thiruvanathapuram International Airport and Tuticorin Airport.
